The hypnotherapist I went to for IBS told me that muscle development in the abs, or lack thereof, does effect IBS. She suggested just taking a walk eack day for at least 20 minutes. Not strenuous but moves those muscles (when you walk, put your palms on your abs and you can feel the muscle moving). What she was saying, basically, is that muscle development in your abs will help give you more control with urgency and such where you find yourself racing to the bathroom because you can't hold it in and with pushing out what won't come out for those with C. I don't know how much of this is true but I do know that once I became more active I started to feel a whole lot better. This is just how I understood what she was talking about. She may have meant something a little different. Bottom line, exercise is good and even just a slow stroll will keep your body moving and help you feel better.
