Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Hi, I am new! Not sure where to start my posting!

I am new to this website and not sure where to start. I think I need some time to read over all the other posts and get more info on IBS. I also think I should purchase both books as from the reviews, they are very helpful for people. I have had IBS for at least 8 yrs that I can now go back on and say: "so that was my problem". Seems worse as I have aged (bummer) which makes me wonder what it will be like in my 50's, 60's, and so on... The nutritional doc I have seen has given me probiotics and aloe vera juice plus an enzyme. It would be great if Heather's product is all I need to take (other than changing my diet of course). I am tired of not knowing when it's going to happen, wonder if what I am eating will cause a problem, and so on.. Immodium AD is my friend and from the few posts i have read, there are others that have it way worse and I feel for you all. I have also read that it can react to hormones.Found this out because 1 week (give or take a day) prior to my monthly cycle, i wish i could just stay in bed. it's horrible and on top of PMS? It just plain stinks! during my cycle, it isn't as bad but bad enough making what?? 2 wks out of a month miserable for me? That's hoping I don't have problems the rest of the month. If anyone can guide me on this website, posts, etc.. I'd appreciate it because not sure where I should start!? Oh and as far as weight loss or gain? I can't seem to get past my weight (need to lose) and wonder if it's due to the IBS.
