Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Hey Kate,

First of all, I really appreciate the way you respond to everyone's posts...you are always so helpful, yet so gentle and sweet!

I know I really should be cutting out some of the higher fat and IF foods from my diet right now, but I am having a lot of difficulty regaining weight that I lost during my struggle with an eating disorder, and my nutritionist has cautioned me to stay away from the BTC diet, even in the short term...however, I'm sure there are some slight alterations I could make in my diet that may make a difference. For example, the berries definitely have to go--even though they're nutritious, they give me a lot of pain, and they're not very high in calories. Avocados have never given me problems (my triggers tend to be more of the IF foods like apples, broccoli, whole wheat, etc.) but I think I'm going to have to switch the bread for that sandwich, and see if it makes a difference.

Again, thanks so much for taking the time to reply to my post and offer your suggestions...I read your posts all the time, and I really appreciate your presence on this board!
