Hi Gold,

If you do a search in this board you'll find several posts about WW; we discussed this a month or two ago and several folks had some good input.

I just joined WW last week -- in fact, a week ago today -- so I don't know if I've lost anything yet since "weigh-in" isn't for several hours yet. I will not weigh myself anywhere else other than the meeting place, and only once a week. Water fluctuations can throw it off too easily.

I've had some ups and downs this week. You'll see some of my posts about additives in WW "ready-made" products causing me extreme distress. I strongly recommend you avoid them! Their chocolate toffee candy, for instance, made by Whitman's, is full of Maltitol Syrup, and made me very sick. I was doubled over with cramps, nausea, and "D", and had to turn to my "Big Guns" for relief (Donnatal). Their frozen desserts are full of artificial sweeters and DAIRY, which are killers for me. And even their frozen meals contain HFCS! Like so many of us, I can't tolerate any of this stuff.

I purchased one of the WW cookbooks and made my own dessert -- look for my post in the Recipe Board entitled "CHOCOLATE LAYER CAKE." It's totally safe and absolutely delicious; furthermore, it's half the points of the WW frozen desserts. From that same cookbook I'm also making Double Chocolate Biscotti and Carrot Cake.

I am also doing the on-line program, although I haven't figured it out yet. I'm terribly "computer-challenged."

I believe WW is "do-able" with IBS, but it's not easy. For example, I cannot tolerate cabbage, but it's in the zero-points vegetable soup. We're supposed to have dairy on the program, but obviously I cannot; I will substitute soy milk and soy cheese whenever a recipe calls for dairy. Also, we are supposed to take a multi-vitamin, but I cannot because they cause tummy cramps, so I've had to eliminate them as well.

I know the program can work because I'm a lifetime member, having gotten my gold key 21 years ago. The trick is to stick with it and to exercise, as you are doing.

WE CAN DO THIS!

Bev
