Obesity linked to IBS?       12/02/05 03:11 PM Edit Reply Quote juliaoboo Reged: 12/02/05 Posts: 1 I have suffered with IBS for 18 years now. I have had ulcerative colitis and diagnosed with H-Pylori over the years also. My IBS is characterized by frequent diarrhea. I am rarely constipated. I have put on weight for many reasons but I always wondered if there is a connection to the diarrhea and weight gain since it is likely my body is not asorbing enough nutrients with the diarrhea and therefore slowing down my metabolism to compensate.
