Lately I've been eating a lot of carrots because they are so easy! I buy a big 5lb bag of them and cut them into chunks (discarding the stems) and steam them in the steamer. Then I puree them in batches (now that I bought a brand-new food processor, I won't have to do batches anymore. Yay!) with about 1/2-1 tsp of brown sugar each batch. So... I'd say maybe 1 tbsp of brown sugar for the whole bag, which makes it pretty trivial, I think. Since I used to love eating raw carrots with hummus, I'm going to make a batch of carrots without the brown sugar next time and swirl in a bit of hummus before I eat it.
