I've been eating around 1800, and I've been quite active this spring, working like hell in the yard, and I've GAINED 15-20 POUNDS. And no, it's not muscle. So I'm sorry, but that BMR thing DOES NOT work for everyone, and I'm one of the people it DOESN'T work for. My metabolism simply doesn't "catch up". It never has.
And if you think I haven't given it enough time... well, f*** it, I am NOT going to keep eating so many calories for another 6-8 months and gain ANOTHER 15-20 pounds. I'm already that much overweight, and I cry every day because the only clothes I have that fit me are sweatpants and my boyfriend's t-shirts. If it means doing "damage" to my metabolism to lose pounds, then yes, it's totally worth it.
I'm not discussing this any more. Everyone has to do what works for them - just like WW works for some people and not others. I know my body, nobody else does, and that's that.
