Walk in the park!

Today I took a walk in the park. I think alot of my IBS comes from my fear of what might happen...so I decided to go for a walk, even if I don't know how far the closest bathroom is. Basically, to train myself to think how I always used to - when you feel something in your stomach, don't automatically think oh no it's too late! At one moment I started imagining what if all of a sudden I got terrible D and had to somehow get back...and then in passed and I was fine. Like Michael Mahoney w/ the hypno tapes says, I need to get more normal thoughts in my head to get rid of all the what if oh no thoughts that are there WAY too often w/ SO many different scenarios.
I'm rambling; the point is that although I wouldn't recommend it for everyone I think this is what I need and maybe other's like me. Just to get self confidence to be outside, and if I go it alone then it's not nearly as anxious a thing for me. Even w/o IBS I have a tendency to stay inside ALL the time, so it's easy to get in a pattern y'know? Used to the bathroom being right there...
The real test is eating there, (ok it was a cup of white rice but still).
Of course if someone really does have D and something happens then I guess that would make the person even more freaked out and paranoid, excascerbating(sp?) the problem...
Gonna try again tomorrow, hopefully!
