Hey guys. Still working on it, I tried eating even more often today, felt like I was eating all day, a very non-productive sort of feeling. But I'm trying.
8pm:
Half a bowl of oatmeal squares
8:45:
Other half the bowl
10:00:
Handful of Jelly beans
12:05:
Applesauce with Banana cut up in it
3:00:
Baggie of Pretzels
4:30:
Deviled Eggs and Jelly Beans (still in the Easter spirit, hehe)
5:15:
Turkey wrapped in tortilla with honey mustard
6:30:
Another baggie of pretzel sticks
8:30
My coffee place will make things with soy milk!
I got a steamer, just soy milk and the flavor syrup.
I haven't felt so indulgent in such a long time!
9:30
Piece of broken Easter chocolate
Incredibly, despite eating *all day* that still comes out to be just at 1,000 calories.
Also went to another doctor, he confirmed IBS, sent me on to another specialist. He was amazed that I was still "gaining weight". Didn't have the heart to tell him that the nurse had weighed me holding my purse, water bottle, and textbook. What's the point in even weighing then? And both times, I had been wearing a big coat and heavy boats. Who knows what I weigh under all that, lol.
A little low on the water today-- 106 oz .
I'll chalk it up to all that time waiting in the exam room at the docs with no way to fill up my bottle.
And Casey --Thanks so much for all your advice, and understanding. I'll look into those shakes this weekend. And yes, thanks *goodness* for potatos. They are just about the perfect food right now. Well, all except for the fact that you can't grab one on the way out the door and just stick it in your purse, lol! My sister makes wonderful mashed potatoes, and she's made them with soy milk for me, yum!
Linz --I have a condition known as dystonia. It's a neurological condition that causes muscle spasms and contractions. Several limbs are permenantly spasming and contracted. Talk about wearing you out! Whew! I've also been having some abdominal spasms lately, which I'm not sure if they are related to IBS, dystonia, or both. I also have a bit of an unusual, "unspecified" immune disorder, also somehow relating to the dystonia. If I get sick (even just a touch of a bug or something) it either sticks around forever a very long time (months!) or my dystonia spreads, so far, permenantly. It's been a very frustrating situation, because I don't want my life to become like "Boy in the Plastic Bubble". None of my *many* doctors have ever mentioned Fibro, but I've read about it from time to time. I don't think I have it, but I certainly empathise and feel generally validated by reading Fibro support boards and such. The unending indescribable fatigue (even when I feel "good") and frustration with trying to live life and do what you want, without the consequences. Or accepting that sometimes you just simple can't. It's a hard thing to balance, I think, whatever the cause.
