It could also be your joints.. that's what my yoga teacher told me when I asked her about it last week. I've been frustrated a little bit from doing yoga for almost 3 years now, and still not being able to do some of the forward folding while sitting down stuff. She checked a few things when I was in some of the poses, and that's when she told me that it's most likely not the muscles but joints. And it is possible to improve, but it will take much much much longer than if it were the muscles. Oh well...
