Ihave had similar symptoms as far back as age 11 or 12. My Mother took me to the doc and he told her I had a slow bowel, but everything would be find.

I wish he was alive today, he would have the opportunity to see that some docs are still using this diagnosis. Now it is called "spastic colon".

As I got older, the symptoms got worse and my doc placed me on stool softeners which worled well for a while. Then I moved on to Prune Juice which worked extremely well until the D got so bad I could no longer drink it.

I really don't think there is an age when IBS symtoms occur. But growing up, you will remember when it was "hard for you to go".
