new doctor, new drug, and other concerns

I went to see a new doctor today (mine apparently has developed a habit of taking off for weeks at a time and rescheduling all her patients--not cool!). He was very nice, has IBS himself, and helped to develop Zelnorm. He gave me enough samples to last 10 days and will see me again then. I took my first dose tonight. Has anyone had any success with Zelnorm? I'm actually doing fairly well right now, so I'm not sure I'll be able to tell if the drug is helping....

He didn't want to hear about the diet, however . I tried to tell him, I really did!

Since I've been home with my family, I've pretty much had to eat what they're eating (unless I cook). (You have my sympathy, Angela!) Lots of red meat, salads from the garden, whole wheat bread, crispy grilled vegies that are nowhere near cooked enough for me.... I try to eat well during the day (rice noodle ramen, smoothies, I even bought some "happy bellies" herbal tea at the farmer's market), but I'll sure be glad to get back to my own apartment and shopping list.

On the other hand, like I said, I'm doing pretty well--take away the stress of school and my tummy calms down considerably!

Okay, off to bed for me after this long rambly post--I had an osteopathic manipulation AND a therapeutic massage today, so my body is sore as can be.
