Anyone heard of the Specific Carbohydrate Diet? Heather?

My alternative practitioner is recommending this diet as a possible way of dealing with my IBS. Was wondering if anyone else has tried it. It's supposed to help with IBS, IBD, celiac, Crohn's, etc. Allowed carbs have a single molecule structure that makes them easier to absorb. Chain molecules are not allowed. Sort of makes sense. However, the diet allows certain dairy products which is surprising to me, and it doesn't allow much in the way of grains.

My doc said to try it for a month and see if it is helpful. I'm feeling a little better this week, so I'm not sure if I want to stir anything up!

The website that tells about the diet is http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info

Thanks!
