Hi All
This week has been a nightmare for me. At the weekend I had a cold brought on by allergic reaction to the glue I was using to do my fiberglass nails and then Sunday night right up to today I've been really suffering with extream period pains.
I saw my doc about this at the beginning of the year as I was worried it was endrometreosis but had a proper examination and found it was my IBS making my periods a lot worse.
I've been taking pain killers all week (which I dont like) and today I have run out so am sitting it out, its not as bad as it was yesterday but still really uncomfortable and I feel so tired.

Does anyone else here suffer majorly with their periods because of their IBS???

What can I do to lessen the pain??
It's boiling hot here in the UK so the hot water bottle idea is no good, I have been using it a few times but Im just too hot.
I just had a hot bath but now I just feel drained of energy and again too hot.

What can I do???

I used to get wicked period pains, especially in my back and down my right leg. I took prescribed motrin and elevated my legs or tried to walk it out. After a couple sonograms they found I had fibroid tumors which is what causes most of the pain. I started taking BC pills for the first time in 20 years and the pain is minimal (still there and I feel it but not nearly as bad). Other than getting D during my period (I'm C the rest of the time) I did not notice any connection. I do know that if I give into major chocolate cravings I have more pain. I hope you get relief soon. I would go back to my gynocologist and have more tests done. Period pain shouldn't last 5 days or more unless there is another reason for it.

Peace,
Tammy
