Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

I have just returned from visiting my mother-in-law for the weekend.
I am finding it very hard to visit w/folks. My best freind lives a few hrs. away and I really want to spend some time w/her,but I always get C, when I am not at home.
Wondering if others have anything similar. I am trying to see if it is triggered by the actual trip,and or the not being near my own bathroom (plus possibly stress).
It can sometimes even happen if I have company here at my own house. I am realizing that one thing that helps me is to try to stick to an easy going routine,mild activity and quiet relaxing time in the am. It feels like my muscles inside just get tight or won't relax.
Now that I am back home I am paying attenetion to what is different. This morning my tummy muscles were real sore,prob. due to the trip. I wanted to lay low and rest,but went to my exercise class instead. We worked on weight machines today so I just went at it gently. I came home feeling a lot better.
Okay I'll stop rambling.Just wondering about how others experience these things.
