I would be interested to hear what other people think about the timing of pain or D after eating a trigger food. If you have an attack, do you normally find that the cause is something from your last meal or from something you ate the day before? I always look back about 24 hours but I've seen a lot of posts from people mentioning an attack quite soon after eating an offensive food. Does this depend on whether you are IBS-C or IBS-D? I'm also trying to figure out exactly where the offending food causes the problems. When it reaches the stomach, could that send your bowels into spasms? It has always seemed to me that if I get pain in my bowels then I need to look several meals back for the offender. If I get pain in my bowels right after a meal, it has never seemed to me that it could be something I just ate.

I hope I explained that well. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
