Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

Bev, sorry if my post confused you. I am not the greatest at putting to paper what I want to say. It some times get all garbled. My MIL has been cooking low fat and healthy foods for a while, or so she claims. She knows that I can't tolerate dairy and she is supposidly lactose intolerant. So I thought that the cooked veggies would be safe. Low and behold she coveres them with butter and I didn't realize that. I told her that I can only have chicken or turkey breast she said "no problem, I am making a turkey" It turned out that the turkey was a butterball. She didn't inform me of that either. I don't have her gravey cause my hubby told me that it is full of grease. Other times that we have gone there, she has told me that she will make food that I can eat and then there was steak or beef roast and potatoe salad and basically everything has been what I cant eat. She would be very offended it I brought stuff that I could have and not eat what she has made. On the one time that I decided to eat at home before we went to dinner there, that way I would not have to eat her food and be sick. She was really mad at me for doing that. I guess it is a no win situation with her. We don't get along as it is. As for low fat foods, I generally eat very low fat because I don't have a gallbladder and was told not to eat high fat or deepfried foods by the dr. That was 22 years ago. I think what I will do is go on the food that you eat when there is nothing for you to eat diet and see if I can get better that way.
