Hi Winnie,

I think we talked about our diverticulosis before, didn't we? If so, I apologize for repeating myself .....

I have diverticulosis and have had two diverticulitis attacks so far. I'm also a D.

I have been on Acacia for a long time. It did NOT increase my D -- UNTIL I got to the maximum dosage and didn't realize it. (That max. dose is 3 TABLESPOONS/day.)

Starting out at 1 teaspoon twice a day is very sensible. You wouldn't want to begin to increase it for a few weeks. At least, that's what I did, and it worked (until, as I said, I got to the max).

There have been many posts about Metamucil; I'm not surprised that it bothered you. I don't think very many of us take that stuff.

Didn't we talk about the kind of antibiotic you're on? I was on Flagyl, and it worked well for me. What are you taking? How long will you have to take it? I think I took mine for a week or two, then I was fine.

After you finish those antibiotics, you may want to consider a probiotic. Antibiotics kill all bacteria, including the good bacteria that helps with good gut flora (which is where a good probiotic comes in). Just something to consider.....

Bev
