I have a feeling our correspondence should be in the Living Room, but don't know how to bump us there.

I am envious of your weather. We are planning to move to NC in a few years, and after reading your post I talked to my husband about the NW. Response was too far from the kids and family - good point.

We have Canadian Geese and snow geese that fly overhead also. We are 2 houses from Malletts Bay and so they come flying in for the night - both fall and spring. I'll hear them and run out to the deck and they fly so low overhead I can see their feathers. You are right - it so cool!
I've become a big bird watcher. I have a nest of robins in my front porch hanging planter. They are getting big and I expect they will fledge any day now. It's been so fun watching the whole process - despite my poor plant suffering at times for water and need of dead heading. I walk my dog everyday on a path that takes us through an area that has tons of migrating birds. It's great until the leaves come out and you can't really see them anymore. The path then takes us out on a causeway over Lake Champlain and we see all the herons and other water birds as well as NY mountains and VT mountains - it's awesome. If only we didn't have winter!

I just ordered some of the soy coffee you recommended. Poor Patrick (husband) is getting a bit overwhelmed with my containers of tea and such. Wait until he pours a cup of soy coffee. With his taste buds, he probably won't notice until he comes home with a headache from caffiene withdrawal.
