I have never taken them before, but I read about them on the internet and I think I remember reading that you have to chew before swallowing. I am on some tablets now from the doc that I have to chew and it is not so nice (tastes like strawberries, my @$$! It hasn't been THAT long since I've had strawberries!) but it's worth it, they seem to be helping bind my BMs together so the D is at least not liquid.
