Serg - Never heard of Proctitis so I did a Google search and found what it is. Sounds like IBS from the description; ie. continuous sensation or urge to have BM, constipation, feeling of rectal fullness, left sided abdominal pain, passage of mucus thru rectum, rectal bleeding and anorectal pain.

Did you get a diagnosis by a bona fide doctor? If so, what did he/she tell you. Did they tell you which infection or disease you have that caused proctitis?

There were several treatments for proctitis mainly antibiotics for bacterial causes. If the inflammation is caused by Crohn's or ulcerative colitis, the doc may recommend the drug 5-aminosalicyclic acid (5ASA) or corticosteroids applied directly to the area or taken in pill form.

Far be it for me to tell you what to do about it or how to treat it, but you should be armed with this knowledge when you confront your physician.

The website (www.niddk.nih.gov/health/digest/summary/proctis/proctis.htm) didn't say too much else except that:

Proctitis can be short term (acute) or long term (chronic). Proctitis has many causes. It may be a side effect of medical treatments like radiation therapy or antibiotics. Diseases like ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease and sexually transmitted diseases may also cause it. Other causes include rectal injury, bacterial infection, allergies and malfunction of the nerves of the rectum.

Hope this helps.
