Hi Bev,

I have a prescription for Lomotril which I save for before an occasion when I don't want a problem. Usually if it is a stressful type thing. Sometimes going to my son's event at school can trigger an attack. Silly I know, but my stomach is ultra-sensitive to any type of stress or nervousness. It always has but never caused these problems. I think I wrote this before, but my mom passed away this past November and leading up to that about a year ago now is when I noticed the symptoms. All the stress and anxiety of going through this with my mom, and stuff with my dad really brought on the IBS I feel.

Now it's trying to figure out the trigger stuff and help myself not get so hyped over stuff. I find that the urgency sometimes is really a false alarm. I don't really have to go. And if I were home, I'd probably not have the urgency at all. It's thinking that there won't be a bathroom somewhere that gets me going. I'm going to look into Michael's stuff and I'm going to try to meditate on psalms in the bible too. Taking deep breaths helps.

I'm finally realizing that I can't drink coffee. Somedays I can handle it, other days I can't. It's just not worth it. I love Chai tea, decaf. It settles my stomach. Somedays I can have a little milk.

I think I'm going to go back to the acacia in the morning and pop a few fibercon throughout the day and then take an equalactin when I really feel the rumbles. I'm sorry I'm rambling here! This is the only place I can talk about this stuff!!! I'm beginning to think though, there are more out there than you'd think. It's just that people don't talk about it much. I ran into a girl at work who started asking me if my poops were firmed or not. (after we talked about having a colonscopy).

Thanks for your help Bev...
Sandy

PS Where do you get Hyoscyamine and what does that do?
