Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | BEV, can I ask you a question about medication? (m)

Thanks for your response yesterday to me. We seem to have very similar symptoms of our IBS D. Is Donnatel something you take every day? I saw a web site on IBS and it suggested that it was something you took daily for chronic IBS and control of its symptoms. I also read what is in it and I don't think I'd want to take it every day. My doctor didn't suggest it either. I do take Lomotril for when it does get bad or for prevention if I'm going out and need the assurance of it not happening. What do you think is better? You also mentioned Hyoscyamine.

I read somewhere else that taking Zinc and Histidine (an amnio acid) helped with the contractions of the colon and helped control D. I'm willing to try anything. Especially if it won't hurt you trying!

Just curious on the meds.

PS It was probably the ice cream. I'm better today..pretty normal bathroom trips this morning. I took a couple of equalactin just to be sure...since I'm going out later. BTW... I do like the equalactin. It seems to bind me up a little bit!
