Re: barium enema help       05/19/04 09:10 PM Edit Reply Quote MKE32 Reged: 03/11/04 Posts: 37 Loc: Alberta, Canada I'm very concerned that neither of you seem to have cleared out the barium yet. Bear in mind I'm the tech on the other end of this test, the one telling you to drink lots of water to clear it out. I have also seen patients into the ER several days after a barium test, painfully constipated with the barium cemented in their bowel. I'm not saying this to frighten anyone, just to stress the importance of clearing your bowels out after the exam, and don't be afraid to go back to the doc if things aren't moving after a couple of days.
