The prep is much worse than the procedure. Your so exhausted after the day of prep that your almost looking forward to the test just so you can go back to eating solid food again and actually have a good nights sleep without worrying about messing yourself. As far as the passing gas part. Your so out of it that you won't even know that your farting. No smell comes out either it's just air being released. I did find that after the drugs wore off I had some discomfort and cramping. They'll explain all of that to you when your ready to leave recovery.
