JessieGirl, I've been thinking about your post ever since I responded this morning, especially after my morning "bout."

Hubby wanted to go antique-shopping, so I said okay, made a quick trip to the potty (tried to "force it," to make sure I was "cleaned out"), and we headed out. When we got to the first antique shop, BAM! I had to go. It really made me angry with myself, because I KNEW I didn't really have to; after all, I just "cleaned myself out!" What was going on with me?

I ignored the rumbling, bloat, and the feeling of urgency, and tried to enjoy the shopping, while looking around for the bathroom. I lucked out with the bathroom, but then saw the note on the door, "Employees Only." RATS! Okay, Bev, not a problem; after all, you don't REALLY have to go, you know you don't, you just have a mental problem!

We left the store, then went on to the next one, all the while rumbling down below. Again, I scouted out the bathroom -- and same thing with the note on the door, "Employees Only!" I hate that.

By the time we got to the fourth antique shop, it was HUBBY who had to go, so we stopped at a public bathroom. I told myself, "Self, you're not going to go. Remember Michael's words: 'There are no demands or insistence.' You know it's just all in your head, you're up tight for some reason, and by the time you get home you won't have to go!" So I didn't go.

We drove home, and on the way my tummy completely relaxed. By the time we got to the front door, I didn't have to go at all. And, you know, I STILL haven't gone!

So what's going on here? I'm relaxed at home, close to the bathroom. I'm not relaxed out on the street where there are no bathrooms. My subconscious is causing my body to cramp up and get a feeling of urgency -- and why? Because my conscious mind is telling it to do that.

I need to listen to Michael some more.

So is this what happens with you too?

Bev
