Re: Barium Enema       04/15/04 11:30 AM Edit Reply Quote MKE32 Reged: 03/11/04 Posts: 37 Loc: Alberta, Canada You may be finding the barium coming out is a lot thicker than it was going in, as your colon has absorbed some of the water suspended in it, and that results in a thicker substance coming out. The barium we give patients for the swallow is also fairly thick (think protein shake-thickness), but because the water hasn't been absorbed by your colon yet, don't worry that it would be as thick as what is coming out of you right now! -------------------- Every cloud has a silver lining!
