Claire,
Thanks so much for your reply. It really does help to hear other people's experiences. I do agree that it is worth any suffering to produce a beautiful baby. I had irregular periods before I had my son who is now 2 1\2. It took me ages to fall pregnant with him and I was just in the process of waiting to see a specialist when I fell pregnant naturally. My IBS was only mild then (not even bad enough for me to seek help really - just a little annoying). I was fine throughout my pregnancy, never constipated, just suffering the usual heartburn etc.

When my son was about 8 months old I started using fertility drugs to fall pregnant again. (A lot of people ask why I started so soon and it was because I knew it would take a while) This is when the IBS hit full force and became absolutely debilitating. In some ways I blame those drugs for setting it off. I immediately stopped using them but unfortunately the IBS did not stop with it. I started following Heather's diet about 8 months ago which was when I also went back on the pill and started on the AD's. After three months I felt really great so I stopped the medications in the hope of falling pregnant again but I never regained my period. Which is why I am heading back to me OB/Gyn to see where I am headed now.

Thanks so much for all your support. I will let you know how I get on.

I would love to hear from anyone else too who can relate in any way to any of this.

Claire, where in France do you live?

Thanks again,
Kerrie
