Newbie Here: About Me and 2 Questions       04/03/04 04:55 AM Edit Reply Quote CityWoman Reged: 03/27/04 Posts: 13 Loc: Ontario, Canada I posted this in two spots so I'd be more likely to get a reply. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis just 5 1/2 weeks ago after being rushed to hospital. I am on prednisone (down to 40mg day - down to 35mg day as of Monday - and then reduced weekly until end of May). I am on a 100% lactose free, low residue/low fibre diet, and an introduction diet and coping with that quite well except for one problem.... QUESTION ONE Why the heck am I craving sugar so much? It's like I can't stay away from it and when I start I can't seem to stop? (Okay, maybe it's just me and I need more control?) QUESTION TWO I'm experiencing a lot of water retention lately and I'm wondering if there are any safe solutions? I can cope with the look of the puffy face, I am finding it hard to cope with the feeling I get with the water retention in my feet, hands, and face. Your help is appreciated.
