Hi, yeah, I've just been busy.

Well, wheat free helped a little, but not an awful lot. I wondered then whether I was eating not quite enough mushy white stuff and a bit too much insoluble, so I've back-tracked a bit. Was going very well, especially with the porridge oats in the morning, until today - feel a bit more bloated and gassy, but that could just be my body trying to adust to the upped soluble fibre.

While I was totally wheat free I'm afraid I became a bit complacent and ate a couple of triggers, french fries and cereal too high in insoluble. Suffered the worst gut spasms I ever remember which were so bad they left me feeling - well, bruised is the only word I can think of - I could barely sit down or stand up all the next day - OUCH!!!

So now I'm back to being extra good. Clearly, I was hoping wheat was my only problem (alas not) which would be easier to handle than IBS generally, but never mind. So it seems I can handle small amounts of wheat as long as I don't go overboard.

Anyway, enough about me.....
I suppose carpets make sense more over there if it's dry. It's generally very humid here, which makes it colder when its cold and yukky when it's hot and a lot of (especially older) houses tend to suffer from damp in the winter.

Just thinking of my old student digs .... in Hull (why did I ever pick there with my lack of body heat!!!) which is on the North-East coast of England. Bbrrrrr... the permanent cold and smell of damp....once my friend Jo came to stay and we slept in the same (single) bed with our socks, coats, hats, scarves and gloves on in bed cos it was sooooo cold. I don't miss those days at all!!!! Would've killed for a bit of carpet in the old bathroom then!!!
