I use a prescription called Nulev for gas. Mine is .125 mg. I really love this stuff. I only take it when needed---when the gas is starting to really build up. I don't use it as preventative medicine. But, it's very fast acting. It's a little white pill you put under your tongue and it dissolves---tastes like a mild mint---(so it's easy to take anywhere with no water around) AND, it dissolves very, very quickly. But, the best part for me anyway, is that it seems to work just as fast as it dissolves......almost! Personally anyway, I have had very good luck with this medicine. Maybe others haven't had as much success with it. But, when the gas starts building and I can tell that, if left untreated somehow, I'm going to be in for a major "attack" of IBS, I'll take one Nulev and within minutes I can feel it starting to decrease and I end up without an "attack". Just my experience with a certain medicine. I'm sure it doesn't work the same for everyone out there. Might be worth trying though!
