Thanks guys for all your advice. It does help to hear stories from others. I did taper off the AD and I was fine for a little while. I came off them (and the pill)about 4 months ago.

When things first started to flare I found I was having maybe 1 or 2 bad days a week with the rest being good but now I find its the opposite (maybe one good day a week if I'm lucky). I am trying to stay positive and tell myself I can do it without drugs.

I follow Heather's diet religiously, I walk each day, and go to Yoga. Since doing all this my C has eased extremely which is great. I just can't get rid of my hugely bloated and swollen stomach. I feel like I'm carrying around a bowling ball in my gut all day and that gives me horrible back pain. Even though I have a regular BM each morning the swollen stomach just won't reduce.

I am seeing my OB/Gyn on Monday and I will quiz him about the low progesterone link. (Thanks Claire) I believe this could be important. I know my prog. is low because I don't ovulate which is why I have a lack of periods.

I am going to start FSH injections to stimulate ovulation so I am also worried how this will affect the IBS.

My husband suggested maybe I should go back on the pill and the AD to stabilise things again and put off having a baby for a while. My feelings are that this will probably happen again when I come off both so I can't see it making any difference whether I do it now or in 6 months. He is supportive either way but says he hates seeing me suffer.

My stomach is so swollen it is uncomfortable to wear clothes!
