How can you tell what foods are insoluble or soluble fiber??? I know it has it listed in Heather's books, but what if it's not on that list? Before Heather's books, I never heard of insoluble fibers, and soluble fibers. I just knew about fiber, and that my doc told me to eat more fiber. I take a Metamucil before each meal or snack. How much should I take? should I take one before a snack???

I also need to know if I did the right thing: the other night, my meal was: A Lean Cuisine dinner: Chicken with lemon sauce and rice
Then I made my own shake: I used Soy-Um strawberry soy milk, a banana, and ice and put it in a blender. It was pretty good! That was my dessert, and then I figured I'd have insoluble fiber at the end of my meal and I ate a granola bar. I ate it slowly too. Was that the right way to eat for IBS? I'm still learning, and getting adjusted, so any info would be most appreciated.

I'd really like to know more about how to tell what foods are insoluble and soluble.

Thanks,
Jillie
