I'm so sensitive to MSG that to prove it to my hubby, we did a taste test with two cans of tuna, one packed in water and one packed in vegetable broth with MSG. I did fine with the one packed in water, and reacted badly to the other even tho the liquid was drained off in both cases. Another thing about MSG is that the food industry is allowed to call it a bunch of different things. Even "natural flavor" in the ingredients is usually really MSG. Check those websites mentioned by someone else for the full list of MSG aliases. Why do food companies use it? Profits. It makes everything taste better (it's a flavor enhancer) and if something tastes better, you're more likely to keep buying it. I've learned the hard way that if a store-bought processed food (like a soup or a frozen meal) tastes too good to be true, it's because it's full of MSG. -------------------- Laura Keep it simple!
