Hi Jen,
If not taking the acacia made no difference, then it's not the acacia that's to blame. Have you tried a probiotic? I noticed a difference in my blowing after I started a course of Jarro, and it's been much better ever since (not to mention other great benefits).
I still blow, though. I'm beginning to think it's just part of having IBS, something that we're stuck with. Mine is also in the evenings, like yours -- never in the mornings. I wonder if our bodies are trying to digest our day's meals and it's just more difficult to do at night when we're starting to slow down?
After you blow, don't you feel a lot better? I mean, doesn't the pressure disappear? For me, it's a big relief. (Although I understand what you mean -- before I took the Jarro the blowing was so bad even I couldn't stand myself! In this little tiny 2-room condo, hubby really MUST love me!)
I'm going to try cutting down on my food intake even MORE (if that's possible), and seeing if that doesn't make a difference for me. I'm beginning to think that my body simply does not want food in any form whatsoever.....
