Cheryl, what kind of meds are they? Are they preventative, or do you take them just when you have an attack? I don't take my meds every day, but only when I'm in pain or have D. My doctor in California gave me a prescription for Donnatal for my severe attacks. That small little bottle expired 2 years ago -- yet I still have almost a full bottle. (I have a problem throwing things out, as you can see.)
My cramp pills are also used just for an on-coming attack, and I still have most of the free samples doc gave me of Nu-Lev.
Maybe I just don't have a lot of attacks, or maybe I'm ultra-conservative with meds. But I haven't really needed them since I've adhered to Heather's program (and cut out my beloved cuppa!)
$180 a month seems a bit steep. No, it seems a LOT steep! Ouch. But your doctor must have prescribed them for you because he felt you need them, right? Now, don't get me wrong -- I am NOT professing you stop your meds; in fact, just the opposite -- check with your doctor, find out if he means for you to take them as often as you are? Maybe he doesn't realize the fantastic eating program you're on. You say you have cut back the dosage; is your doctor aware of that? If not, he should be.
Hope some of this helps.
Bev
