Does it ever go away?       02/19/04 02:05 PM Edit Reply Quote kshsmom Reged: 11/20/03 Posts: 677 I had IBS come on only in the last two years (and only knew it was IBS for about 6 - 8 months). It was a VERY stressful year for me -- and I had other problems come on at the same time. Some of those have resolved themselves and I was wondering --- Is there any chance that the IBS will go away? I had several tests - for all kinds of things -- but before I ended up getting the colonoscopy - the doc suggested I look into a couple IBS books -- and change my diet. Once I did - the symptoms were nearly gone. So -- I never had the colonoscopy because he said it wasn't necessary because none of the other problems would have had such improvement. I obviously was doing what I needed to do. However -- my husband and some friends have asked if this is something that I will ever be rid of --- and I thought I'd ask.
