Welcome, jEN. I think you misunderstood a wee bit. We encourage you to eat as much fruits and veggies as possible. They are mostly insoluble fiber, so try to cook, mash and puree as much as possible to make them easier to digest.
Also, have them with some soluble fiber (ie. rice, white bread, potatoes) etc. to help digest them.
The veggies you pointed out are some of the ones that cause a lot of gas. Use them sparingly. I use onion a lot for flavour. Try small amounts.
There are tons of ways to get your veggies. The sky is the limit. You may even be able to add a few pieces of broccoli in a stir fry and get away with it!
