Hi Jen, and welcome to the boards!

You can still have vegetables -- and in fact, you should. Insoluble fiber is very important. It's just a matter of changing the way we're used to cooking them and eating them. For instance, we always have a soluble fiber first, such as potato or rice or pasta or French bread.

Do you have Heather's "The First Year"? All this is explained in there, and it's our bible. It's easy to understand, and it makes a lot of sense. I highly recommend getting it -- it's only about $15.

You're really on the right track with the fennel, switching over from dairy to soy, being a fish-eating vegetarian, and the yoga -- congratulations! You won't have to make nearly the changes that most of us have had to make.

I think the best way to get fruit is in smoothies. Toss some protein powder in a blender with a banana and your favorite fruit (preferrably canned or peeled peaches or something without any skin -- I prefer frozen blueberries), and maybe a little soy milk. YUM! You can have a little bit of fruit after some soluble fiber, so don't give it up!

I have a killer lentil soup recipe in the recipe board; all you need with that is some Beano!

Get Heather's book and check out the recipe board. You'll do just fine. And again -- WELCOME!

Bev
