I have so much to be grateful for. When Heather suggested I join the boards a year ago, I think I was still in denial over my confirmed diagnosis. Oh, I had read her books and had posted the solubles and insolubles lists on my fridge, was pretty much a vegetarian by then, but I still enjoyed my coffee, my Jack, dairy products (oh that cheese!), and of course my beloved salads -- lots of salads, in fact salads every day. Cramps and diarrhea were daily occurrences for me, but I was in denial -- I figured it was simply "mind over matter." I could control my body, my body would heal itself. My symptoms just got worse, and I was having to take my meds almost every day to try to counter-act all the bad foods I was eating (not to mention all that wonderful coffee)!
I wish I had joined the boards a year ago; it would have saved me a lot of pain and anguish. Anyway, I'm grateful to be here now, and I commend Heather for all she has done -- for all of us -- so if I had a Jack in my hand right now, I'd raise it to Heather. THANK YOU, Heather!
