Calcium and IBS?

Do a search on calcium -- we had a conversation about this just last month. After my so-called hysterectomy 21 years ago, my doctor insisted that I take 1,200mg. calcium every day, which I have done without fail. It's really important for menopausal women to get enough calcium to prevent osteoporosis. (I had a bone density test which showed that I had more bone loss than I should.)

I don't think my calcium supplements help or hinder my IBS (taking them is a different issue for me); however, the search may help answer your question better than I can.
