Re: Are gas and bloating caused by constipation?       03/23/03 08:29 PM Edit Reply Quote KinOz Reged: 02/02/03 Posts: 909 Loc: Brisbane, Australia I don't know if the constipation causes the gas and bloating but from reading these boards it seems that the people who suffer severe bloating (myself included) are mostly IBS-C. I have been on Heather's diet and using benefiber for about 9 months now and constipation is really rare for me now. The bloating and gas (I describe it as trapped and often fell that if only I could untrap it I would be less bloated and feel a lot better) is still a huge problem for me that I am fighting on a daily basis. So i don't know if it is constipation that is causing the bloating as I don't really feel constipated. I do however have days when I feel I don't empty completely and that is when the bloating is worst.
