I've not been around for a good while. I fooled myself into thinking I had a handle on things and that I am headed for an answer, since I'm being medically tested. I've had IBS-C since 1983, and have experienced every type of season since then.

Over the past few years, I've been way overdoing it. Far too much wheat in my diet, even beer, and my digestion is sluggish so I've been resorting to digestive enzymes, meds for gas and bloating, as well as laxatives. It's time I get back on track.

The use of meds and enzymes just isn't enough. A diet change is needed. What always happens when I return to a managed diet is that I lose weight. Finally, I put on an extra, much-needed, thirty pounds, but, as you can read, at a heavy price. I'm suffering. The belching is terrible, as is the gas.

And so, I'm back. And to think I am to go on a four day cruise next month which will mean I'll have to monitor what I eat. It will be my first time on a cruise, with friends, and flatulance does not make for good company, without a doubt.

I used to never touch wheat products, now I'm eating pasta, cereals and all sorts of things that must be causing this trouble. Also, I have pain issues and so I'm on pain meds, which also has helped with weight gain while slowing my digestion.

Anyway, I'm back. Now watch the weight fall.
