Many many times I had thought of it - just to be free of pain - my gastro told me he could control the pain of his colon cancer patients better than his IBS patients.

Consider taking a peek at my link below - I know it may sound a bit 'out there' but clinical hypnotherapy can greatly control the pain of IBS - I used the IBS Audio Program offered here - and I use the pain session for other types of pain as well, it is very helpful especially when nothing else seems to help. not a cure, but many folks have found great success and relief using this method.
