To answer your questions:
I was tested with the breath test and was "borderline" so I was treated with xifaxin for 2 weeks. I saw improvements immediately but would still have occasional D (1-2x/month, my baseline before treatment was 2x/week I think) but no pain. 5 months later (now) I all of a sudden feel "sick" again; D now 2x/day this past week and cramping. I think it started when i cooked some Macaroni n "Cheese" with a lot of nutritional yeast but now i cant get back to "normal". I eat healthy but I do have a sweet-tooth which i hear contributes to bacterial growth.
I havent heard anyone take xifaxin for C.
I also take a probiotic everyday (15 billion, with 8 different strains).
