Do you know of any other (real) stool softeners?
I tried to find the docusate, but they only have it for rectal use over here..
The only oral 'stoolsofteners' (that's really what they call it) I can find are all based on macrogol (plus electrolytes).
I guess the macrogol is indeed causing symptoms at the moment . Allthough my symptoms are different (and less heavy now than they were with the added sweetener).

started EFI +FODMAPs 1/2011. 'Relapse' for 8 months. Now partly back on track again with the diet..
