I love Dr. Oz and watch his show when I can. I felt he did not have enough time, in an hour show, to do IBS justice. It was mostly a skim-over or surface presentation. Also, docs that don't really specialize in IBS, never seem to cover how debilitating it can be, for some folks.
As for the stress issue, I think it can be a daily trigger, along with other triggers. But, I feel you must go much deeper and possibly farther back in your life, to get to the bottom of IBS. I had to go back to when I was a child. We all put our trauma or family dysfunction, somewhere. I also feel that it is a certain type of personality that develops IBS...strictly my opinion.
With hypnosis, I was able to totally heal, so I guess I was one of the lucky ones.
