I am IBS-C with occasional IBS-D. I have noticed that sometimes when I eat a food that my stomach does not always react the day I eat it but the next day. Say I drink I diet soda. The rest of the day I am OK but the next day my stomach starts the cramping, etc. Does anyone else have this? Still trying to get my recurrence under control. Had to go back to the lexapro for the stress/anxiety. That is my main trigger with food as a close secondary. They seem to play off one another as if I am stressed the food reacts and if I eat a food that gives me a symptom I get an anxiety attack. Been eating bananas, rice cakes, cooked white rice, my homemade potato soup from on here and plain pasta. Been doing it a week and feeling some better but when I try to incorporate chicken it doesn't work. Maybe I am still too sensitive to it or maybe I should just try to have one plain chicken strip instead of three. It's a little frustrating. I just started dating a new guy and I finally had to let him know about my IBS. The day we were to meet for the first time I got sick and had to turn around and come back home. That day I had D and a small anxiety attack. He was sweet and came to my house and we just just relaxed on the couch. I told him I got nervous meeting him and was sick at my stomach. The week following I was still feeling bad and he was worried. I finally confessed to what was actually the issue. I only vaguely went over it. He came back the next Saturday and I was really feeling bad that day (the day I tried too much chicken) and we watched a movie. He told me everything was fine and if I was still feeling bad this week we would just relax on the sofa and he would rub my back. I thought that was very sweet. If I find a guy who just met me and know about IBS and is willing to stick around, then I may have found me a keeper. The unfortunate thing is he lives an hour and a half from me so I want to start feeling better because at some point he will want to introduce me to his family. My guy also used to have a restaurant and likes to cook and I want to teach him how to be able to cook for me. Thanks for letting me carry on. It helps to have other who know what I am going through. Ya'll are really sweet.
