Although all the proton pump inhibitors (PPI) are similar (Prilosec, Prevacid, Nexium) they can still have different effects on someone. For example, Nexium upsets my stomach very much, Prevacid barely worked. Prilosec seems to be the one I tolerate best and it works well about 99% of the time.
