High fructose corn syrup is a known IBS trigger for about 50% of people with IBS. This is not the same as saying high fructose corn is bad for everyone. If she wishes to read more about how any food that contains more of the sugar fructose than the sugar glucose such as high fructose corn syrup, honey, apples, pears, etc and some juices. If she wishes to read more how foods with excess fructose effect individuals with GI disorder such as IBS she can read the information on the web site linked to in the first two items in my signature.
